Students at Hokie Camp

The mission of New Student Programs is to offer support to new Hokies during their transition to Virginia Tech by providing opportunities for learning and meaningful engagement with the Virginia Tech community. New Student Programs gives leadership to New Student Orientation for Transfer and First Year Students, Hokie Camp, and Hokie Hi, as well as continued transitional programs throughout the first year for all new students at Virginia Tech. These programs are the first experiences that new students have at Virginia Tech and New Student Programs seeks to provide an environment that makes the transition from high school to college as seamless as possible.

New Student Programs also provides student leadership positions to facilitate these programs. The relationship between the student leaders at Virginia Tech and incoming students is strengthened by an open and welcoming atmosphere. These student leaders embody Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) and want to share that with all incoming students as soon as they arrive at campus.
