Welcome to Virginia Tech!

Welcome to Virginia Tech! Whether you are coming to us from high school, a community college, or a four year university, you will find that Virginia Tech is a distinctly different place with many wonderful opportunities. New Student and Family Programs looks forward to assisting you in your transition to the Hokie community.

The first step to becoming a Hokie is to attend Spring Orientation. The program will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Squires Student Center. Check-in will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The program includes lunch and will conclude no later than 3 p.m. You are welcome to bring up to two family members to your orientation session.

Spring Orientation is for students who will begin classes at Virginia Tech during the spring semester. During your orientation session, you will learn about university services and resources, interact with academic representatives from your college and meet with current students to have your questions answered about student life at Virginia Tech. Our goal is to give you the information you need to feel comfortable and confident in starting your course work.

The transition to a new school is often a major milestone for family members as well as for the student. We recognize that family members have questions and concerns and our Families as Partners session is designed to help answer these questions. Your family members will attend this session from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. We encourage you to bring up to two family members with you when you attend orientation.

Be sure to sign up for Spring Orientation. The survey password is included in the letter sent to the address you have on file with the university.
